The City of Danville and Pittsylvania County have school systems that provide the facilities and environment to prepare our children for the 21st century. The area also has 9 private and parochial schools that serve grades K -12.
In addition to the modern facilities of Danville Community College, the area is also home of Averett University; a four year, private, fully accredited, independent liberal arts college chartered in 1859. Averett offers bachelor's degrees in 35 majors and has recently opened a 75 acre convocation and athletic center. Danville also has an independent junior college of business in the National College of Business and Technology. Danville Regional Medical Center has two educational offerings, a diploma program in Nursing and a certificate program in Radiologic Technology.
