Chantilly is an unincorporated community located in western Fairfax County and southeastern Loudoun County of Northern Virginia. It is named after the town of the same name in France.Chantilly, Virginia

Chantilly is part of the Washington metropolitan area and is approximately 24 miles from Washington, D.C.

Chantilly is home to Washington Dules Internationa Airport, which serves Washington, D.C. It is also the location of the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center annex of the National Air and Space Museum and the headquarters of the National Reconnaissance Office.

Interspersed with Fairfax County's impressive collection of 18th and 19th century landmarks are several popular contemporary attractions. Wolf Trap Farm Park for the Performing Arts is the only national park for the performing arts. With the open-air Filene Center and the cozier Barns, Wolf Trap offers a variety of musical entertainment throughout the year. George Mason University's Center for the Arts and Patriot Center also host a wide variety of arts, music and entertainment options.

Fairfax County has one of the largest concentrations of retail shopping on the East Coast. Tysons Corner Center and Tysons Galleria contain such stores as Bloomingdales, Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Lord and Taylor, and Nordstrom as well as hundreds of upscale boutiques, specialty shops and restaurants. Fairfax Square features such name stores as Tiffany & Co., Hermes, Gucci and Fendi. Regional shopping malls include Fair Oaks and Springfield.
