The Sheridan Area has many wonderful things to see and do and we think the Sheridan Lifestyleis fairly unique, which is largely due to the culture that has been established over the past 150 years by the people who live here.

We who live here already know how great it is, but in 2006, Sheridan, Wyoming was voted the #1 Western Town in the US by True West Magazine and now Outdoor Life Magazine has selected Sheridan, Wyoming as the #3 town for outdoor living out of the best 200. Interestingly, 5 of the top 6 are western towns. It's a trend that's becoming more noticeable. For sportsmen and those who love outdoor living, check us out. But it's more than just outdoor living; it's overall living, like low crime, friendly faces and a lifestyle that's mostly disappeared from most places.

Sheridan is home to the Trail End State Historic Site: the home (built in 1913) of John Benjamin Kendrick, a rancher who became governor of Wyoming and then was elected to 3 terms in the US Senate. The Sheridan Inn is another historic site in Sheridan: opened in 1893 and frequented by folks like Calamity Jane Canary, Yvonne de Carlo, Ernest Hemingway (he was writing A Farewell to Arms during his stay), President William Howard Taft and Buffalo Bill Cody (who sat on the front porch while auditioning talent for his Wild West Show).
