Once you get past the hills and the trees, you will notice the Willamette River that runs right through the middle of Eugene. Why would they put a river right in the middle of town? You might ask. Well, they didn't. Nature did and it was there a long time before Eugene was. The Willamette River is very popular for boating and fishing, and at some points along the river there are some strong rapids.

Whether you come for the scenic beauty, culture, education or sports, Eugene has it all. If we didn’t, we couldn't call ourselves the “World’s Greatest City of the Arts & Outdoors!”
