It is neither a city nor town, but an unincorporated township (also known as a “Census-Designated Place”) situated within Clark County, Nevada. As an unincorporated township, Sunrise Manor does not have its own municipal government. Instead, it relies on Clark County to provide all its governmental functions and town services. Also part of Clark County are the city of Las Vegas and the unincorporated township of Paradise (containing the Las Vegas Strip and McCarran Airport), both of which are less than ten miles from Sunrise Manor. Other nearby cities include North Las Vegas, Winchester, Henderson, Whitney, and Spring Valley.
