Reno was once Nevada's original gambling and divorce capital - gaining national attention in the 1930s and '40s for its wide-open attitudes. Reno is within 30 minutes of Pyramid Lake. Pyramid Lake (which is named for a tufa rock formation on the eastern shore)remains as strikingly beautiful and as enchanting as it was before we came. But these differences are not the decisive ones.
