Hastings, Minnesota is located in Dakota and Washington Counties. The city is named for the first elected governor of the state of Minnesota, Henry Hastings Sibley.

Beautiful, spring-fed Lake Rebecca offers picnicking and fishing just a short distance from the Mississippi, a great stopover on your way down the Great River Road.  And to the east, the St. Croix River widens before it joins the 
Mississippi, making our Point Douglas Beach the perfect spot for water fun.

Hastings is blessed with a beautiful setting on the bluffs of the Mississippi River.  Victorian residences in tree-lined neighborhoods, a classic Main Street downtown, and the 1871 County Courthouse maintain Hastings' distinctive small town character.  At the same time, Hastings continues to grow with steady residential, commercial industrial development activity coupled with an expanding mix of public and institutional land uses.
