Novi is located in south-central Oakland County. The city is located approximately 25 miles northwest from the center of Detroit.

Novi is home to Twelve Oaks Mall -- the largest mall in Michigan. There are several other shopping plazas in the city, as well as three large outdoor malls near Twelve Oaks. Novi is also home to many businesses, several technical and business centers, several hotels and motels, and numerous delicious restaurants. The region's power grid is controlled from ITC's headquarters in Novi.

Novi also has a 500-plus acre expanse of beach, woodlands and wetlands in the North Novi Park and Lakeshore Park. Novi is situated near Maybury State Park in Northville. See the pigs, chickens, goats and horses, take a horseback ride, explore the bike trails or cross-country ski. It is a great place for folks of all ages!

There are six nice community parks in Novi to serve residents. This includes Lakeshore & North Novi Park and Beach, Brookfarm Park, Spirit of 76 Park, Ella Mae Power Park, Rotary Park and the Community Sports park.

Novi has many area churches, four major shopping centers with a fifth on the way, the Motorsports Museum and Hall of Fame, six hotels with more proposed, a major medical center and another major medical center coming soon.

The Novi Ice Arena open in 1998, and is home the Novi High School Wildcats varsity hockey team, and the Novi Wild school prep team. Nearby Northville High School, where some Novi resident attend, also calls the arena home.

The Rock Financial Showplace opened in 2005, and hosts many events throughout the year. Novi is also home to Catholic Central High School, Second City Comedy Club, and the Emagine Theater - the first all-digital theater in the state.
