Clinton is a city in and the county seat of Clinton County, Iowa. Clinton is the principal city of the Clinton Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is coterminous with Clinton County.Clinton, Iowa

Fishing access on the Mississippi River is available at Clinton's new handicapped-accessible fishing pier, located between 5th and 6th Avenue North on Riverview Drive, south of the Showboat Theatre.  Access also available along the Discovery Trail that begins at Riverview Drive and 9th Avenue North.  Fish that are indigenous to the Mississippi River in the Clinton area are: Bluegill, Sunfish, Crappie, Largemouth Bass, Channel Cat, Walleye, Sauger, Bullhead, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Flathead Catfish and Yellow Bass.

The new Clinton Marina, located at 6th Avenue North and the river, is a full-service marina with a launching ramp, gas dock, boaters' store, seasonal and overnight slip rental, winter storage and a mechanic on duty.  A new restaurant is located above the marina facility, with windows overlooking the Mississippi River.

Clinton Area Parks and Recreation is charged with the mission of enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of the City of Clinton. Today, this can be experienced in the 18 city parks encompassing 479 acres and 21 facilities, and in the over 160 recreation programs and activities designed for all ages.
