Streamwood is a village of Cook County, Illinois. It is a suburb of Chicago. Streamwood, along with Bartlett and Hanover Park, is one of the three communities that make up the so called "Tri Village" area. Streamwood was first incorporated as a village on February 9, 1957.
Streamwood enjoys a wide range of quality educational opportunities for its residents. The majority of the community is served by Elgin School District U-46. U-46 is a large and diverse school district, which offers a wide variety of programming from pre-school through high school.
