Carol Stream is a village in Du Page County, Illinois. Incorporated on January 5, 1959, and named after the developer's daughter,
Carol Stream as a community comprised of residential homes in the west sector of the Village mixed with light industrial businesses in the east sector. Since its incorporation 45 years ago, the Village has continued to grow and prosper each year by following a progressive land use development plan, which has resulted in controlled orderly growth. Today, the Village is home to 762 businesses and industries.
Carol Stream offers its residents modern schools, a large modern park system, a recently expanded full service library and a community of churches serving many religious denominations. The Village has recently expanded its water and wastewater utilities to meet projected future customer demand for these essential Village services.
One of the favorite attractions of our parks & recreational facilities is our Village Park District. The District hosts 36 parks and playgrounds from 1/4 to 74 acres each. There are two pools and/or water parks in The District, one indoor and one outdoor. And speaking of children-friendly, be sure to visit our Kids World, a 16,000 square foot play complex that is ADA accessible. Our Village is proud to offer organized football and baseball, soccer programs, and swimming teams. We have a 40,837 square foot indoor recreation center and over 400 acres of park area for your recreational enjoyment.
DuPage County is also serious about forest preservation. We host 57 facilities with approximately 23,000 acres for wildlife and/or forest preservation. We can't forget the avid golf enthusiasts. There are actually 46 golf courses in DuPage County, to give you plenty of diversity to aide in improving your stroke. Coyote Crossing is a unique, professionally designed 18-hole mini-golf course, and is located on Route 64 and St. Charles Road in McCaslin Park. Another popular attraction is the Illinois Prairie Path, which runs through our Village. The Path offers 61 miles of hiking, biking, equestrian and nature paths. This is a Path designed for the love of the outdoors and draws athletes of all walks of life to its trails.
