Sponsored by the CRA, the Downtown Development Authority, Ocean City Lumber Company, Pineapple Grove Village, Marriott Hotel, CityWalk and other sponsors to be announced, this popular hometown event is always fun and frolic for Delray Beach friends and families. Competing teams do not have to build their beds to withstand the rigors of the race. Pineapple Grove has industrial strength beds that will be used by all teams during the races. The team beds or floats used in the parade can be as wild, funny or bizarre as they want to be. All beds and/or floats must be people-powered...no trucks or cars allowed. Prizes are awarded for the best representation of the theme, "A Wacko Ona" and the most creative beds or floats will receive First, Second and Third prizes. For teams who race, the prizes are announced as to the cash amount. Parade participants are not restricted in any way.

Racing teams are made up of four runners who push-pull the racing bed and a “Queen” or “Princess” riding on the bed all the way to the finish line. Following the races and award ceremonies, there is music for dancing in the street.
