San Clemente, California

 

San Clemente is a city in Orange County. Located On the California Coast, midway between Los Angeles and San Diego at the southern tip of the county, it is known for its ocean, hill, and mountain views, a pleasant climate and its Spanish Colonial style architecture. San Clemente's city slogan is "Spanish Village by the Sea". The official City flower is the Bougainvillea and the official City tree is the Coral tree.

San Clemente is a casual, invigorating, laid- back beach town, with great schools, a strong sense of community and gently rolling hills that continually pull you right down to the beach. Many homes have great views of either the ocean or the mountains (and sometimes both!) San Clemente has a small town feel but offers many restaurants, hotels and shops and public parks and beaches.

Housing


San Clemente has a wide range of housing available, to fit many budgets. Choices range from ocean-view condos and multi-family dwellings in the "Pier Bowl" area of downtown, to the beachfront estates in the gated communities of Cyprus Cove and Cyprus Shores. There are also a number of mainstream family neighborhoods close to the beach as well as in the hills. Homes built within the last few years are available in Forster Ranch and Talega, where building of new homes continues as well. Prices range from $400,000 to $ 750,000 and up.

San Clemente is currently in a rapid growth stage, with new homes being added all the time, primarily in the communities of Talega and Forster Highlands in the northeast part of town. The new construction is made up primarily of single-family homes, but there are also some condos and townhouses available. In the established parts of town, the range of housing available varies widely, from condos and multi-family dwellings in the "Pier Bowl" area of downtown to the beachfront estates in the gated communities of Cyprus Cove and Cyprus Shores to the mainstream family neighborhoods in the hills east of the freeway. San Clemente offers something for everyone.

Population in July 2009: 61,610. San Clemente covers 17.6 square miles. It sits at an elevation of 160 feet above sea level.

San Clemente, CA climate is mild during summer when temperatures tend to be in the 60's and cool during winter when temperatures tend to be in the 50's.

The warmest month of the year is August with an average maximum temperature of 78.80 degrees Fahrenheit, while the coldest month of the year is December with an average minimum temperature of 43.60 degrees Fahrenheit.

Temperature variations between night and day tend to be fairly limited during summer with a difference that can reach 18 degrees Fahrenheit, and moderate during winter with an average difference of 23 degrees Fahrenheit.
